Your insulin pump properly insured
An insulin pump is an expensive device. Minor damage to the device is often covered under the manufacturer's warranty. If the damage is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty, your pump is often only insured up to € 1,000 in your travel insurance or home contents insurance.
Take out home insuranceThat's why there is now a unique home contents insurance with comprehensive coverage for your insulin pump, for members of Diabetesvereniging Nederland. This insurance is offered at a discount by Alpina, Diabetesvereniging Nederland's insurance advisor.
Advantage: you can cancel your current household insurance. So you do not pay double insurance and you are better insured. The cost coverage costs on average only € 3,- per month (on top of the premium for the standard home contents insurance). This allows you to insure your insulin pump for less than € 40 per year.
When is this insurance important?
Insulin pump manufacturers often take a lot of responsibility when damage or problems occur. But not always can the manufacturer replace a pump for free. For example, does your pump fall into water, is it left in a hotel room, or is it lost while practicing dangerous sports such as skydiving or mountain climbing? Then there is usually no reimbursement from the manufacturer.
So this insurance is especially suitable if you:
Often travel or go abroad
Engages in sports that could damage your insulin pump
At sports, disconnect your pump and leave it in the locker room
Like to be well prepared for unexpected situations
Or if you just want a little more security.
How do you apply for insurance?
Insure your insulin pump
Especially for members of Diabetes Association Netherlands: a unique home contents insurance with extra coverage for your insulin pump - with member discount.
