Customer Service temporary car insurance

Temporary car insurance is short-term insurance that you take out to insure a car for a limited period of time. Via Alpina, you take out temporary car insurance that insures your car for 1 day (€79) or 14 days (€109) with third-party (third-party) car insurance throughout Europe.

The cost of temporary car insurance depends on the length of coverage:

• 1 day: €79
• 14 days: €109

A third-party coverage applies to the temporary insurance. It is not possible to take out more extensive coverage. Therefore, the insurance does not cover damage to one's own vehicle.

At Alpina, you can easily take out temporary car insurance online. Choose the number of days you want to be insured, enter your details and license plate number, and pay the premium. The insurance starts immediately as soon as the payment is received, after which you will receive the insurance certificate and green card by e-mail. When you apply for the insurance with a start date in the future, coverage starts automatically at 00:00 on the chosen day.

Temporary car insurance policies with a term of 1 day or 14 days cannot, in principle, be renewed. They have a fixed end date and expire automatically. Only in exceptional cases extension may be possible in consultation with Alpina customer service.

Do you need longer insurance? Then it is often more advantageous to switch to regular car insurance. If you take it out with Alpina, you will receive a 10% discount on your regular car insurance.

Temporary car insurance is useful if you want to use a vehicle for a short time, for example, when importing, exporting, selling or passing an inspection at the RDW.

There are two variants:

• RDW insurance - valid for 1 day, only for trips to and from the RDW inspection station.
• Export insurance - valid for 14 days, intended for vehicles exported abroad.
