Home Car Insurance License plate Lost registration certificate

What should I do if I have lost a Part 3 certificate of registration?

The registration certificate part 3 has been called the transfer certificate since June 1, 2014. As of January 1, 2014, this has again been replaced by the registration code. This is the part needed when transferring the license plate and you must keep it at home.

Until June 1, 2004, there was a Part 3 registration certificate, which was the proof of ownership of the car. The person in possession of it was considered to be the owner. Without part 3 registration certificate, you could not sell the vehicle. In fact, you needed part 3 to convert the registration certificate to the new owner at the post office.

Lost registration certificate, what to do

The registration certificate was replaced as of Jan. 1, 2014, by the registration code. This code consists of 9 digits. You will receive the first part of the code during the transfer. The second part is included in the registration card sent to you by the RDW.
You combine the two parts of the code yourself. You will need the code if you want to sell, trade in, suspend, scrap or export your vehicle. Keep the registration code in a safe place.
