Storage clause/night clause

When a storage clause applies to a classic car insurance, the classic car has to be stored in an enclosed area between sunset and sunrise. This is not a carport with a fence in front of it or a parking garage that is accessible for several people.

A variation on this clause could be that the storage requirement only applies when the vintage car is within a radius of 1 kilometre from the home.

Stowage clause differs from company to company

Not every insurer stipulates a parking clause as standard. This differs per product, type and value of the vehicle. Therefore, when taking out insurance, always ask whether a storage clause applies.
