Is theft from the car covered under contents insurance?
A household insurance usually only covers items that were in the house at the time of the incident or in an annex (shed, garage, garden shed). For damage to valuable items outside the home, exterior cover can often be purchased.
What is out-of-home coverage?

Not all insurers offer coverage under the exterior cover for theft from the car for theft. If they do, an increased excess usually applies.
