Why is there a car insurance for higher educated people?

What are higher educated people?
What exactly are higher educated people in the context of these insurances? Many insurers follow the same guidelines. As a rule, the following groups are considered to be higher educated:
- People who have completed an education at a college (HBO).
- People who have studied at the University (WO education, bachelor and master).
Some insurers also include people with an MBO level 4 education in the group of higher educated people.
Difference in premium compared to 'normal' car insurances
Research has shown that people with a higher education claim less damage. This is a reason for insurers to offer lower premiums to higher educated people. The circumstance that level of education can lead to a lower premium, is therefore only a given. It is only part of a much broader risk assessment. So there is no discrimination in car insurance for the higher educated. It is simply part of the way insurers work.
