Can I suspend my motorcycle insurance in the winter?

What does a winter break entail?
Motorcycle insurance with winter break means that your motorcycle is in storage during the winter months and therefore not used. This period usually runs from December 15 to March 1, but sometimes from December 1 to March 1. This can vary from one insurer to another. If you do not drive during the winter, it means that you cannot cause accidents either. As a result, the risk to your insurer is lower. That means you get a discount on the premium. With winter break coverage, you get a 10% discount on the main coverage year-round. Damage that occurs in the garage is still insured as normal, for example if a fire breaks out or your motorcycle is stolen from the garage (provided you have limited hull or all-risk coverage).
You do not have to temporarily suspend your motorcycle from the RDW during the winter break. Do you go on public roads and cause damage? Then you are not insured, also damage you cause to others is not insured.
Winter break or annual coverage?

You have to weigh up whether the financial benefits outweigh the inconvenience of not being able to use the motorcycle.
