What coverage should I choose for my motorcycle insurance?

Which motorcycle insurance policy is best for you to choose depends in part on the coverage you want. With motorcycle insurance, you have a choice of three different coverages: WA, WA limited casco and Allrisk. Taking out third-party coverage for a motor vehicle is required by law in the Netherlands. With this coverage you are insured for damage you cause to another person with your motorcycle. Please note, damage to your own motorcycle is not insured with this coverage. For this you need a more extensive coverage. Think for example of the WA + limited casco motorcycle insurance. This insures your motorcycle in case of theft and fire damage. If you prefer to be insured as extensively as possible you can also choose for All-risk motorcycle insurance. With this, damage to your own motorcycle, for example by your own fault, is also insured.

What additional coverages are available for motorcycle insurance?

In addition to the standard coverage, you can always choose additional options. This way you can compose your motorcycle insurance completely as you wish. Of course, this affects the amount of the premium. The more additional coverage you take out, the higher the premium. There are several options available, such as legal assistance, motor vehicle legal assistance, passenger accident and passenger damage co-insurance.

With some insurers, you can also opt for winter break coverage. With this, damage incurred while riding your motorcycle is not covered during the winter. Usually this applies from December 15 to March 1. Damage caused by fire or theft in the garage is covered. The winter stop coverage is especially useful for motorcyclists who mainly ride during the summer months.
