What do you need to compare car insurance?

Step 1. Fill in the basic data
Already on the first page of our comparator, you are asked for your license plate number and the number of years without claims. By also filling in your postal code, house number and date of birth, the various insurers can be compared with each other.

Step 3. Additional questions on how you use the car
Insurers estimate the risk. The number of kilometres that you drive per year with the car plays a role in this. More kilometres means a higher risk for the insurer. Also when the car is used for business purposes, the risk increases. In addition, not all insurers are willing to insure business cars. If the car to be insured is a second family car, there are possibilities to negotiate an extra discount.
Step 4. Questions focused on damage-free driving
The following questions should clarify the discount possibilities. If, for example, you have driven a lease car in the last three years, you can get an extra discount with a lease declaration which shows that you have not caused any damage. The calculation is done. The results show which insurer comes out best in the comparison. You can now request a quote from one or more insurers. You can also choose the 'Continue' option and select any additional insurances. Behind the green exclamation mark, you will find further information about the additional coverages.
Are there any fees when taking out car insurance?
Yes, for most insurance policies you will be charged a one-off fee of €13.36. Subsequently, you will be charged the quoted premium on a monthly or annual basis. In the event of a claim, an excess may be payable. You may regard this as a cost in the event of a claim.

Do not blindly choose the most comprehensive cover. All-risk car insurance is the most comprehensive insurance, but it is probably too expensive for older cars with a low current value. The premium is based on the new value of the car, but in case of damage it is based on the current value.
