That’s very inconvenient if you depend on your car, for example, to drive to work. In that case, it’s nice to have a replacement vehicle. Unfortunately, the repair shop won’t always just give you a loaner car, especially if it’s for a longer period of time. Whether you’re entitled to a replacement vehicle depends on your auto insurance coverage.

If the other party causes damage, am I entitled to compensation?

Was the damage caused by another driver? In most cases, you can recover the costs of replacement transportation from the other party’s insurance. Every driver has at least third-party liability coverage. This means they are insured if they cause damage to others. The maximum amount reimbursed is generally 75% of the rental costs.
