Home Car Insurance Part 3 registration certificate

Lost registration certificate part 3?

Is the part that is required when transferring the license plate and that you must keep at home.

All about the transfer certificate

Until June 1, 2004, there was a registration certificate part 3. This registration certificate was the proof of ownership of the car and the person in possession of it was therefore deemed to be the owner. Without part 3 registration certificate, you could not sell the vehicle. You therefore needed part 3 to be able to convert the registration certificate to the new owner at the post office.

The registration certificate part 3 has been called the transfer certificate since June 1, 2004. As of January 1, 2014, this has again been replaced by the registration code. This is the part needed when transferring the license plate and you must keep it at home.

Lost registration certificate, what to do?

The transfer certificate was replaced by the registration code as of Jan. 1, 2014. This code consists of 9 digits. You will receive the first part of the code during the transfer. The second part is included in the registration card sent to you by the RDW.

You add the 2 parts of the code together yourself. You will need the code if you want to sell, trade in, suspend, scrap or export the vehicle. Therefore, keep the registration code safe.
The new registration certificate
